Me and U.S Embassy Jakarta

I had an amazing moment as a co speaker with U.S Embassy in Jakarta. During Ramadan Outreach Program, I went out with several diplomats and team talked about Ramadan in America. I met a lot of high school students. 

I’ve been doing Ramadan Outreach for 3years now. It such a great event that I always waiting for every Ramadan. I also got chance to have dinner with all the diplomats in Iftar event.

I  also got chance to talk at @america. The only and the coolest American Culture Center in the world. @america located in Pacific Place Mall Jakarta. They have all the most amazing technology. My favorite thing is Google earth section. I can go to Disneyworld, Taj Mahal and Liberty Statue all in one touch!

It such an honor for me because all the famous person were standing there in that place too, such as Agnez Monica (famous singer), Monique Coleman (HSM from Disney and also UN Youth Ambassador), Ahmad Fuadi (N5M-MWJ Author), Alanda Kariza (famous book writer) and many more.

It’s amazing because I’ve been there so many time as an audience and been wondering when I can speak on that stage. I can’t believe I got that chance too and thanks a lot to U.S Embassy.

So this year, I spoke with Sarah Gardiner at @america and the Audience were Pesantren Al Amanah Al Gontory High School Boys.

And then I went to Ponpes Al Falah High School in Kebon Jeruk Jakarta Barat with Mr. Edward Routh from ICITAP.

Just like last year we had iftar with streetschool kids and all the diplomats. It was fun and we also got to see the helping hand puppet show! My favorite show ever.

After that I got the other chance to talk about Election in the U.S with Mr. Geoffrey also @america. It was amazing because I have no idea about election before. I just had an experience living in the Washington, DC during election. So the night before D-day, I learnt a lot so I can explain to the audience. It went really well and Mr. Geo spoke really good Bahasa Indonesia. Election in the U.S has so complicated process it’s much more different than election in Indonesia.

After that someone from Kompas.com interviewed me, his name is Ali. Asked me about my experience during my exchange student year in the U.S. It’s also such an honor for me for being on the one of famous news website.

Overall I really enjoy my life as a speaker and share whatever experience I’ve had and all the knowledge I’ve been learning. It feels soooo good, you should try it :D.

Happy Eid Mubarak Everyone!

Happy Eid Mubarak for all muslim in the world!!!

Hi everyone. Wish you have a lot of fun with your beloved family in this such amazing Eid’l Fitr’. I’m grateful that this year I enjoyed this moment with all of my family. Eventhou it’s sad to feel that we lost our grandfather and Mitha’s father this year may Allah swt forgive all of their mistake and allow them to spend the rest of after life in heaven. Amiin Al- Fatihah.

Not fun part is I’m sick. Totally in bad flu I feel awful but I still having fun and took full rest couple hour later :P. Also I didn’t get THR ( special money special from Eid’l Fitr’ blessing moment) I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older and I suppose to be the one who gave them THR. It reminds me how fun Eid’l Fitr’ when my father still alive. He always gave everyone new clothes, THR and drove us somewhere fun. Noone do such a thing like that today Pa… We miss you.

You guys who know me so well probably explore something “new” from me from all of the picture I attached on this event. Hahaha. I dress up! FYI it wass all from my cousin’s closet. I spent 2 weeks sleepover have fun with her kids.

Here is Yoga the one who always talking about me. Who tells me that I’m fat! Look at him now, the time I’m getting thinner he is the one who looks fatter. HAHAHA!

This is Mitha. The one who has the wadrobe I wore on this picture. I didn't have a dress for Eid'l Fitr', i was wearing an old boring dress from my Mom's old closet and i feel sad about that, i look older than my ager. Then suddenly she said "How about wearing my dress?" and she chose these wadrobe and fyi it's all new from the newest style too. Lol!

 Here’s Mitha’s kids Caca and Raffi. Raffi is the one I always talk about on twitter. He imagining himself as a Batman since his mother brought him to watch that movie. What a kid!

Yesterday on twitter, my junior when I was in college asked me to write about 20-yo young woman should do and what will happen 

If I may answer: JUST HAVE FUN!

I don’t know why on earth she asked me this tricky question  I accept that as a compliment. Hence I know it is also a burden. So thank you, my dear Fitra *jitak palanya*

Ok I will try. However, I’m not a life coach. You have to find your own rules 

When I was 20, I was trying to finish my final paper and enjoying Bali a lot 

Before I write my final paper to obtain my S.Sos, with one of my best pals, Rana, I ran to Bali for 8 days!

Bisa dibilang itu salah satu perjalanan paling berkesan di hidup gw. Mungkin karena itu juga moment perpisahan sama Rana, before she moved to London. Jadi ya menggila segila – gilanya lah kita!

Duit gw ga banyak kala itu, so we rented a cheap hotel and Rana helped me a lot. But I’m easily pleased person, indeed. Jadi biarpun cuma nongkring di Legian sambil nenteng Heineken (DULUUU) dan pake sendal jepit, gw bener2 menikmati setiap moment. Naik motor kesana sini sampe end up di Soto Ceker Kuta yg cuma 11 rebu.

Rana dan Bali adalah paket yg ngajarin gw untuk lebih mencintai Tuhan dan diri gw sendiri. Dan ketika itu gw semakin tau, bahwa kenikmatan dunia ya cuma kenikmatan dunia aja. Ga ada terusannya setelah itu. Gw sama sekali ga nemu apa lagi untungnya. Mabok misalnya,  selain muntah2 di depan bule dan pusing ampe besoknya jam dua siang baru bangun,  toh gw tetep harus pisah sama Rana. Harus balik ke Jakarta dan bertanggung jawab sama empat tahun kuliah gw. Ga ada tanggung jawab hidup yg berkurang setelah kita bikin dosa! Hahaha!

Tapi begitulah kesalahan, dia menjadikan kita pecundang juga mengajari kita kehebatan. Gw ngerasain sendiri betapa ga ada gunanya hal – hal itu dulu. Then I have that trigger now, to be a better person.

Tapiiiii, Bali juga tempat  nikmatin sunset, liatin orang upacara keagamaan dan menikmati keindahan laut yang bikin gw bersyukur atas hidup yg sedang gw jalani dan tmpt gw berjanji  untuk siap menjalani apapun ketika gw pulang nanti.

I’m truly grateful!

So, Fitra, or anyone who kindly take your time to read this blog, you really should enjoy your moment. Mungkin itu jawaban gw.

Umur 20 (atau umur berapapun sih, sebenernya) adalah masa yg tidak akan pernah berulang. Pikirin segala sesuatu sesuai porsinya. Jangan sampai lo mikirin mau jadi apa setelah lulus trus lo lupa bermimpi di masa sekarang. Justru apa yg lo dengar, apa yg lo lihat, apa yg lo nikmati sekarang akan menentukan mau jadi apa lo nanti di depan. Live your own life. Jangan sampe lo mikirin gmn kawin nanti trus lo lupa membekali diri di masa sekarang. Justru apa yg lo bangun, apa yg lo percayai, apa yg lo kehendaki menentukan bagaimana elo mengatur rumah tangga nanti dan mencari karakter pasangan yg bisa menerima itu semua.

20-yo is a glorious age! People pay so much attention to you. And so do you. Serap sebanyak – banyaknya. Ambil yg baik, buang yg ga cocok. Bukan jelek lho, kita ga berhak mengadili. Mungkin ya ga cocok aja sama kita, lebih baik dibuang. Hidup itu gampang. Keep what makes you happy and leave what makes you not. Ada tiga hal yg ga perlu lo khawatirkan krn itu sudah Tuhan atur: Hidup mati, rejeki dan jodoh. Fokus aja untuk usaha. Don’t stop dreaming and don’t you ever dare to stop believing in your dreams! (Asssiiikkk, udah kaya motivator2 di tipi ya gw?? Hahaha).

Satu hal yg paling penting menurut gw: Karakter itu terbentuk di usia 20, bukan?

Jadilah perempuan yg menikmati hidup dengan rasa syukur atas hal – hal kecil. Yang mencari penghidupan dengan menghargai kehidupan. Yang berjuang keras untuk mengarifkan hati dan bukan mencari nilai. Percayalah bahwa setiap orang punya kebahagiaannya masing – masing. Tuhan adalah satu – satunya YANG PALING ADIL. Jadi berhentilah terlalu khawatir.

Terakhir,

Thank you Fitra, untuk bertanya apa yg hrs dilakukan di umur kamu sekarang. Ini mengingatkan saya bahwa saya pernah punya moment yg baik di hidup saya. Dan itulah yg saya syukuri. Jadi buatlah moment2 terbik di umur km sekarang, krn itulah yg akan km syukuri nanti.
